Tori Glenn & The Great Sand Dunes National Park

One of my many favorite aspects of photography is Light, that's probably pretty self explanatory, however; I will never get over the effects of light and its extraordinary capabilities. Let me explain- Have you ever thought to yourself how beautiful an object, person, or environment is during the day and then later in the day the sun begins to set and then it becomes even better? This is exactly what I mean. It just keeps getting better.

I met Tori from assisting on an amazing photographers photoshoot and I already knew from first thought that Tori was going places. So after a couple of photoshoots with her, we decided to adventure to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Having given each other many photo and wardrobe ideas, the excitement to capture her in this unusually stunning landscape was overwhelming to us both.

With the knowledge to capture photographs that created interesting light, patterns, movement, and color we began our journey an hour before sunset. However, it wasn't until we began taking photos that I was reminded of how strong and empowering Tori is. Spending six hours in a car alone to come to the photoshoot in the first place is already amazing, though her dedication to school and modeling is outstanding. Her willingness to go up and down those massive hills, get sand in places nobody wants, and spend two and a half hours making sure we get some epic shots is just the small details about how great of a person she is. That being said; I photographed with the vision of female empowerment, because honestly, we need a bit more of it in our lives.
